Transforming Higher Education for a Sustainable Tomorrow

Topic for 25th October 2010, 1st Coffee World Meeting.

SUSTAINABILITY

Global issues on sustainability, narrowing down to issues within USM pertaining to sustainability ( policies, awareness and understanding, ways to improve and some discussion on various campaigns that were organised by USM , ie: white coffin, 2 hours without moto car, mud ball, etc and if people truly understand the meaning of sustainability) – how effective have these campaigns been? is it lasting in its effects/ sustainable (so to speak)?

Tentative Programme:

The session will begin with n introduction by Mr. Sharan on Right Livelihood college and their works, followed by a short clip/documentary on the issue of sustainability.

Each session will span from 1 to 2 hours and everyone is encouraged to join, academicians and students alike. Would be great if you could  rsvp to the emails listed in the previous post so that we will be able to make the necessary arrangements to accommodate all who attend. (ie seating, beverages)

Look forward to seeing you all there!
